Microsoft planing to phase out its subscription-based security package called Windows Live OneCare. The company is going to start free antivirus software program next year. The new program called Mirro is expected to be available in the end of 2009.

Microsoft is showing Visual Studio 2010 at their Tech-Ed EMEA 2008 Developers Conference in Barcelona (Spain) this week. Microsoft gives us more details about features of the new-generation IDE. Besides the company slashes down prices on different version of Visual Studio 2008 by as much as 30 percent. The prices became more reasonable.

Microsoft starts a new identity management roadmap to addressing concerns about security and authentication. Claims-based identity assigns attributes to an individual, such as an e-mail address or Social Security number issued by a security token service (STS), which allow systems and applications to share information in a secure transaction with corresponding systems.
